The Charlotte Ledger's 40 Over 40
While many organizations tout the achievements of folks under certain ages, The Charlotte Ledger decided it would instead celebrate the achievements and community contributions of its members who are over 40 years old. And since 40 years ago was the beginning of the 1980's, the party, held at the Charlotte Museum of History, was very appropriately 80's Themed.
It was a lot of fun! On top of being a fully catered event, people dressed up in 80's regalia to compete in a costume contest. There were cutouts of famous 80's movie stars and musicians to pose with. There was a surprise dance performance paying tribute to some of the best 80's music and dance. Moira Quinn was there to host some game show antics. Even the Ecto-1 Ghost Busters' car was parked out front! Who says the 80's are dead? Certainly not this crew!
